Michigan Club Fits 11 Pickleball Courts Inside Old Retail Store

  • Paddle + Par, a 50,000-square-foot indoor club in Beverly Hills, Michigan, opened in March 2025 in a former Bed Bath & Beyond building.
  • It has 11 pickleball courts, five golf simulator suites, two table tennis courts, a scratch kitchen and a bar.
  • Memberships cost $720 a year for players and $480 a year for social members.

A Golf Simulator Idea That Became a Pickleball Club

Neal Check and his wife, Dawn, started with a plan for an upscale indoor golf simulator facility. According to The Pickleball Weekly, they chose to add pickleball after finding a building with extra space. That building was a former Bed Bath & Beyond in Beverly Hills, Michigan.

The result is Paddle + Par, a 50,000-square-foot indoor social sport club that opened in March 2025. Neal Check describes it as a “social sport activity club” rather than a golf club or a pickleball club.

What Is Inside

The club has 11 pickleball courts. Each court has individual fencing, soundproofing and cameras for instant replays. Beyond pickleball, the building holds five Full Swing golf simulator suites, two table tennis courts, a scratch kitchen, a bar and 22 TVs.

Dining and the bar sit at the front of the building, so guests can visit without playing.

Membership Costs

Paddle + Par offers two membership levels:

  • Player membership: $720 per year
  • Social membership: $480 per year

Both levels include monthly member-only events. Player members can book 14 days ahead instead of 7, and they get more guest passes and better discounts.

Hosting Groups

The venue can host eight private events at once. It seats 400 people and can hold up to 1,000.

Interest in Expansion

The club has received at least 20 franchise inquiries, and private equity firms have expressed interest, The Pickleball Weekly reports. Expansion would happen only at locations that fit the founders’ standards.

Paddle + Par pairs pickleball with golf simulators, table tennis, dining and a bar under one roof, in a building that used to house a Bed Bath & Beyond.
